1. Who we are
Sea Grape Labs designs websites and business systems for small businesses. It is run by Scott Lovel in Jupiter, Florida. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Sea Grape Labs, and “you” means anyone who visits seagrapelabs.com, sends us an inquiry, or uses our client portal.
We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this website.
2. What we collect
When you contact us or use the project planner
Your name, business name, email, phone number, the type of business you run, the features or problems you pick, and anything you write in the message. We also note how you found the site (for example, the search engine or link that brought you) and the first page you landed on.
When you try the demos
The demos run in your browser. They do not send emails, publish posts, connect bank accounts or take payments. Receipt photos you try stay on the page. If you use the optional microphone, your browser may send the audio to its own speech service (for example Google or Apple) to turn it into text. That is handled by your browser, not by us.
When you are a client
- Portal account: your email and a password. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled, one-way form (a salted hash). We cannot see them.
- Project information: your answers during setup, files and photos you upload, messages and change requests, approvals, and notes about your project.
- Agreements: when you sign electronically we record your name, the time, your IP address and your browser type, so there is a reliable record of the signature.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We see the amount, the date and whether a payment succeeded. We never see or store your full card or bank account number.
- Voice requests: if you use the talk button in the portal, the recording is turned into text by Cloudflare’s AI service so we can read your request.
We never ask for your email password, bank login or tax details, and you should never send them to us.
3. Connected accounts
To set up your website without asking for passwords, you can connect services such as Cloudflare from your client portal. Here is how that works:
- You sign in on the service’s own website, and the service shows you exactly what you are allowing. We never see your password for that service.
- The service gives us a limited access key. We store it encrypted, tied to your project only, and it is never shown in any web page or email.
- We use it only to set up and look after your project, for example publishing your website, connecting your domain, adding the records your site needs and checking that everything works. Every change is logged, and changes are reviewed and approved by Sea Grape Labs before they run.
- We record basic details the service shares, like the account name and the email address that approved the connection, so we can confirm the right account is connected.
- You can disconnect at any time from your portal or from the service’s own account settings. When you disconnect, we delete the saved access and ask the service to cancel it.
4. How we use your information
- To answer your inquiry and prepare proposals.
- To build, launch and support your website and systems.
- To send emails and, if you agree, text messages about your project, such as updates, reminders and invoices.
- To bill you and keep business and tax records.
- To keep the website, portal and your accounts secure, for example by limiting repeated login attempts.
5. Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted service providers. They only receive what they need to do their job.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and our client portal, and stores portal data and files.
- Resend: delivers our emails, including inquiry notifications and replies.
- Stripe: processes card and bank payments.
- Twilio: delivers text messages, only if text updates are turned on for you.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. If Sea Grape Labs is reorganized, for example as a new company, your information moves with it under this same policy.
6. Cookies and browser storage
- Client portal: one cookie keeps you signed in, and a short-lived cookie protects the connect-an-account process. Both are needed for the portal to work.
- This website: your browser remembers how you first found us for up to 90 days, so we know which links bring people here. The project planner keeps your selections in the current browser tab to carry them between pages.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear this storage at any time in your browser settings.
7. How long we keep it
- Inquiries: as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted on request.
- Client records: for as long as you are a client. Signed agreements, invoices and payment records are kept afterwards as business and tax records.
- Connection access keys: deleted as soon as you disconnect, or when your project is removed.
8. Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, give you a copy, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. Some records, like signed agreements and invoices, may need to be kept for legal or tax reasons, and we will tell you if that applies.
You can stop marketing emails at any time by replying “stop” or using the unsubscribe link. Project and billing messages continue while you are a client.
9. Security
The website and portal use encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, access keys for connected accounts are encrypted and locked to your project, and actions on connected accounts are logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will let you know promptly if a problem affects you.
10. Children
Our website and services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also let clients know by email.
